In 2018, Singer/Songwriter, Corné Opperman, decided to take a hiatus, after the fail of a musical project in 2017. Opperman took this year to focus on himself and his music to find his tone and style of music he belongs to and also to process everything he had lived through in 2017. He spent his time writing music and playing in his music schools annual term concerts. After finding his tone in mid 2018, Opperman started planing a project where he was in control and could make sure his voice came out above the noise. Kinders Vannie Suburbs is an Afrikaans/English Pop/Alternative/Punk Rock project focusing on the imperfect side of making music, the way it should be. This project is done with the help of session musicians. Opperman writes and sings about things that happens in everyday life from living in the Suburbs to just being yourself. Opperman creates music for the love of it and as listener, you can expect a performance like no other. Opperman’s musical focus is to move listeners with open and honest lyrics.
On 1 November 2019, Opperman released his first single,Thanks For The Memories, on digital streaming platforms. On 22 November 2019, Opperman received news that MFM has playlisted Thanks For The Memories. Opperman earned the opening slot for Sunset Sweatshop after he blew the band away at his high school’s talent show, where Sunset Sweatshop was the guest band.
KVS released his debut EP on 6 March 2020 on all digital streaming services.
Corné Opperman is a Cape Town musician from Brackenfell.
